At 24 years, 7 months, 21 days, Woods becomes the youngest player in history to win five majors. Jack Nicklaus was 26 when he accomplished the feat. Nicklaus went on to win a record 18 majors by a total of 44 strokes. Woods has won his five by a total of 37 strokes.

The last player to win three straight majors was Ben Hogan in 1953. But it was a very different format.

In the Money

With the first-place check of $900,000, Woods on Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000 broke his own single-season earnings record. He has won $ 6,692,821 this year after winning $6,616,585 in '99. He has a record $18,007,950 in career earnings.
