The six-million dollar man With his victory at Valderrama, Tiger becomes the first golfer to win 6 million in one year! And this is only one of the records he broke!

Woods became the first player since Ben Hogan in 1953 to win four successive U.S. Tour events when he took the Valderrama World Championship on Sunday.

Now he can cast a cautious look at the 11 consecutive victories recorded by Byron Nelson in 1945.

"Hopefully next year I'll play the same type of golf and we'll see about the number of victories," he said.

It was his eighth triumph in 11 tournaments and his ninth of the year worldwide.

Shooting seven under par through 15 holes as the wind swirled around the 6,830-yard course - including a chip-in for an eagle three at the uphill 11th - Woods did not suffer a bogey until the 16th.

Last Week

Tiger  won the PGA Tour Championship by four strokes Sunday, his seventh tour win of the season, despite a pinched nerve. Woods closed with a 2-under 69 at Champions Golf Club, giving him a four-stroke victory over Davis Love III and another title in what has become the best season on the PGA Tour in 25 years.

Woods, who finished at 15-under 269, won for the seventh time in his last 10 tournaments including a a victory in Europe, and the $900,000 pushed Woods over $5.6 million for the year -- nearly as much as Jack Nicklaus won in his entire career.

Tiger has won 17 tournaments during 1999. The 23-year-old already has put a large gap between himself and the rest of the professional golfers. He also wrapped up the money title, even though $1 million is at stake next week in the World Golf Championship event in Spain.
