Woods regains world No. 1 spot

By virtue of his tie for second in the Mercedes Championships, Tiger Woods has reclaimed the No. 1 ranking in the world, from Greg Norman according to the Official World Golf Rankings issued Monday.

Woods tops the chart with an 11.00 points average, with Norman right behind at 10.74. Ernie Els is third with a 10.07 points average, and Nick Price is fourth at 9.91. Mickelson is fifth with a 9.69 average.

The top 10 also includes Davis Love III, Colin Montgomerie, Masashi "Jumbo" Ozaki, Mark O'Meara and Tom Lehman.

Rankings are calculated using a formula that takes into account a player ’s performance over the last two years.
