Well this year is just zooming by and I never seem to be able to play enough golf. But one of the advantages of living here in Southern California is the opportunity to play golf well into the fall. This week I had the opportunity to play in Mexico for the first time and it was a great experience, Real Del Mar was super.

As a former professional athlete, (I had a cup of coffee with the New York Jets) I get the opportunity to get involved with some great charities which benefit and serve some people who really need it. Well last Sunday I had an opportunity to attend the pre-event Dinner and Auction for the Annual Deacon Jones Foundation "Tee Of for Kids", at La Costa, what a class event benefiting a great cause. The celebrities ranged from baseball legend Bob Gibson to TV Star and former Fearsome Foursome member Merlin Olson" I also sat with former Green Bay Packer and San Diego Charger great Willie Buchanon who is being "dogged by San Diego State University", all of the retired professional athletes and coaches at the table were discussing the topic. How a player named as one of the top 50 ever collegiate football players of all time, and one of only two cornerbacks on the team could have his number retired – but on the behalf of another player. Those people at SDSU apparently do not understand how small a network athletes hang in and how much something like this affects recruiting and fund raising. Well I knew that I was playing in the Tee-Off for Health event in Mexico the next morning with Willie, so I would have the opportunity to get all of the facts.
