Can Tiger win the Masters ? YES !
He has returned and the swarm to the
press conference on Monday, April 5th attests’ to that. There
were over 500 people who watched him practice earlier in the day and the
reception was warm and he even acknowledged the positive welcome from the
spectators. He has always been big news, now he’s the story and golf wants
him back. The Masters is golf’s ultimate event and he’s ready to kick butt.
Having been at the 1997
Masters as a spectator the course and the ambiance are like no other golf
tournament or sports event. I have been to Super Bowls, Rose Bowls, Golf
Majors and a slew of other big time events and the Masters is one of a kind.
Its one of a kind for many reasons, the beauty and difficulty of the course,
the manicured greens and fairways, the security and the spectators. It oozes
class, privilege and a respect for the game of golf. He brings so much to
the game because of his playing greatness and his charisma.
For those of you who know
golf, you understand the greatness of his playing skill and mental
toughness. Both of those things have played a major part in his prior
success and will serve him well as he enters the next phase of his golf
career. He must be chomping at the bit to get back to business and he will
be focused, determined and un-stoppable. When he uses all of this adversity
to focus on the task at hand the man will show the world why he is the
number one golfer in the world and arguably the greatest golfer of all time.
All eyes have been on him
for a long time and the circumstances that surround his return will require
him to be even more focused. Millions will watch the Masters and we will
witness why he has risen to the top of the golf world. There will be those
who will still hate him, be jealous and envious, none of these things are
new. But, the bottom line will be enhanced for the golf industry and he will
begin to redeem himself as a marketable commodity. Go get-em TIGER, take no
prisoners’.
Sincerely,
Reginald Grant
