Afrogolf.com, we hope you enjoy the improved format as we strive to make this site a great
resource for you. We appreciate the efforts and work of the staff , we will bring more
information and coverage as the core of the 1998 golf season begins. Tiger is currently
playing well as he prepares to defend his Masters title in April, we will all be rooting
and supporting him. During February I had an opportunity to attend the 7th Annual Franklin
D.Watkins Memorial Trophy Awards Dinner in Washington, D.C. presented to the Premier
African American Scholar Athlete in America by the National
Alliance of African Athletes. This years winner was Ronald A. Curry from Hampton,VA
the runner ups were Jason Capel who will be attending the University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill and Duke McKamey from Steelton,PA all outstanding student-athletes and all
great examples of African American leaders of tomorrow, our future is bright in the
capable hands of these young men. A first class event promoting the positive
accomplishments of African American youth, great job NAAAA.
Well , keep all your drives in the fairway and play around the greens with
a soft touch. I will have loads if more updates and information in April and thanks for
all the great letters and email.
