The Austin Chapter of Mocha Moms, Inc. National 501-c3 nonprofit organization is currently seeking sponsorship for its inaugural charity golf tournament “Teeing off Against Childhood Illiteracy”. This year’s tournament will be held at the sprawling 18 hole Clifton-Ezell-Clifton design Teravista Golf Course located at 4333 Teravista Club Drive in Round Rock, Texas on Sunday, May 2, 2010 from 11 am – 7 pm with a 1:30 pm shot gun start. In partnership with Boys Booked on Barbershops and Girls Booked on Beauty Shops (B-BOB/G-BOB) –which are national, cutting edge literacy programs designed to facilitate the ongoing practice of reading as boys and girls (ages 1 -18) make their regular visits to barber-beauty shops. Mocha Moms, Inc Austin Chapter plans on creating more B-BOB/G-BOB reading nooks in the Austin-area with monies raised from this event. The value of your sponsorship is more than dollars and cents. Literacy statistics for Texas show: · Texas ranked 47th in literacy among the 50 states · One-third of Texans dropped out of high school before graduation · Illiteracy in Texas is estimated to cost over 17 billion dollars a year!

The Los Angeles Chapter of the NFL Players Association is holding its annual celebrity charity golf tournament on Monday, August 26th, 2002 at Industry Hills Golf Course.
