ABOUT THE MGAA

Building The Sport Of Golf Is Our # 1 Issue

MGAA Summary

The MGAA Junior Golf Program for inner-city kids and children at risk is to make golf available and accessible to inner-city youth in conjunction with and in support of positive developmental efforts and programs. Our strategic objective is to establish a "National Network" for inner-city golf clinics, commensurate with education and our World Wide Web site empowerment program which assist our youth to become productive and ready citizens. We want to put a textbook and a golf club in the hands of every child in America.

We have worked with kids from multi-cultural backgrounds; Afro-American, Hispanic, Native American Indian, Asian and Caucasian kids as well. Mostly, inner-city children, ages 8 to 17 years old in twenty-five states to date, one-hundred locations with on-going programs to include junior golf events. We embrace them as family members in the sport of golf.

We create or assist local programs, projects, organizations to begin a program in their community with the MGAA's golf clinic and empowerment program or offer our assistance for an on-going program. We assist these groups to be on their own or as part of the nationwide MGAA program and develop golf scholarships from 100 potential NCAA Colleges or for the MGAA newly developing golf academy for kids who go on to play, develop their skills or a career in the golf industry.

The MGAA, Inc., has been a benchmark for their established programs and are increasingly sought after to assist and provide consultation to other organizations. We furnish information and statistical data answering requests from the media and other organizations for the purpose of informing local communities as to what is taking place in the sport for minorities and how to start-up a local program for their community. We communicate with local officials, associations, organizations, foundations and providers of other programs to the availability and feasibility for establishing an on-going golf program in their community.

Through hard work and dedication, The MGAA has strengthened it's original youth empowerment and junior golf program. We are building a strong foundation for regional and national expansion. The opportunity for minority youngsters to participate in the game of golf and to receive academic scholarships and benefits from the sport has never been greater. The MGAA is proud of it's program to introduce possibilities to an increasing number of deserving children.
